Aviation Management
The Department of Energy, Aviation Program is the management function for all fleet aircraft and contracted aviation services for the Department. The program and its management personnel operate world-wide. To take advantage of the best communications and information services available, we have chosen the Net as one of our mainstays. The services provided from this page are designed to support our operating personnel. Except for our licensed subscription services and official documents transfer protocols, we welcome the use of our system by all interested persons.
Aviation Databases
Current Accepted Operator Data Lists as of July 28, 2008
(Formerly, Consolidated Aircraft Charter Database) - A clearinghouse for commercial aviation service (CAS) vendors and Federal aircraft that are accepted for use by DOE. The Accepted Operator Data lists are in PDF format one listed alphabetically by operator name (Operator by Name -PDF) and the other alphabetically by State or country (Operator by State or Country -PDF). Both PDF files can easily be searched using the Adobe search tools, please contact Randy, Randy.Stewart@hq.doe.gov, for a current list of accepted operators.
Aviation Corrective Action Tracking System
(ACATS) prescribes process requirements and responsibilities for DOE Aviation Managers and next level supervisors, including those of the NNSA, to develop and implement corrective actions to effectively resolve aviation management and safety Opportunities for Improvement identified during OAM Annual Aviation Program Audits or other reviews conducted by the OAM. ACATS is a supplement to the DOE Corrective Action Tracking System and does not replace or substitute line manager and program secretarial office responsibilities required by DOE O 414.1C, Quality Assurance. Aviation Accident and Incident Reporting System (AAIRS)
DOE and NNSA Aviation Safety Officers at each field site should report aviation related accidents or incidents to the Office of Aviation Management as required by DOE O 440.2B change 1, Aviation Management and Safety by e-mail to David Lopez, David.Lopez@hq.doe.gov. AAIRS provides a system to report and disseminate safety information including, near misses, incidents, accidents, lessons learned, and corrective actions taken to share and communicate safety related information. The DOE is working with the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy and the other Federal agencies to adopt a Federal-wide event reporting system to address aviation related safety issues.
