The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) has named Henry M. Valiulis as its Director of Administration.

An independent Federal agency headquartered in Chicago, the RRB administers the $8.5 billion-a-year benefit programs provided under the Federal Railroad Retirement and Unemployment Insurance Acts covering the nation's railroad workforce and their families.

As Director of Administration, Mr. Valiulis will oversee and coordinate those offices providing management and administrative support services for the agency. He will also serve as a member of the RRB's Executive Committee, which is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency and for making recommendations to the three-member Board on agency-related policy issues.

An RRB employee since 1973, Mr. Valiulis had served as the RRB's Director of Supply and Service since 1985, and in recent months also as Acting Director of Administration.

Mr. Valiulis is a graduate of DePaul University (B.S. 1973, M.B.A. 1977). He and his wife, Ramona, reside in Wheaton, Illinois.
