VTI Library and Information Centre (BIC) collects, organises, stores and disseminates information in the field of transport and communication research. BIC has the national responsibility for providing information within this field and for making the literature available. More than 120,000 references are searchable in the database TRAX and a list of journals is available in the database Periodicals. Both these databases are accessible via Internet in the vortal Transguide (http://www.transguide.org). Transguide includes the following databases: Websites, Electronic documents (approx 9 000), Full text search, Literature databases, TRAX (the library catalogue), Data banks, Conferences (upcoming conferences wordwide) and Periodicals. BIC has a broad contact network both mationally and internationally. BIC is the Swedish centre in the international co-operations within the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD, (the database ITRD) and the European Conference for Ministers of Transport, ECMT.
