Training for Emergency Responders and Planners

Emergency responders gather on a beach for shoreline cleanup training.

NOAA's Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) offers both workshops and self-study options to spill response professionals in local, state, and federal governments and industry.

Workshops help spill responders build skills in analyzing complex spill events and making risk-based decisions that maximize long term environmental benefit. See the link, Workshops, in the navigation bar for more information.

You can also build your knowledge of spill and chemical accident response on your own! In the section, Self-study Resources, we offer materials related to our products and software, such as GNOME and the Chemical Reactivity Worksheet, as well as experiments and activities for students and teachers.
