San Jose Mayor Visits

The Mayor of San Jose, the Honorable Chuck Reed, met with Ames Director Pete Worden on Sept. 12, 2008. Mayor Reed learned about Ames' Green Space initiatives and toured the Osmotic Laboratory and the Hyperwall in supercomputing facility. The Mayor and Dr. Worden discussed potential collaborations between NASA and San Jose in green technologies.

September 11th 2008 Day of Remembrance

On Sept. 11, 2008 there was a day of remembrance held at NASA Ames Research Center. Ames Center Director, S. Pete Worden, spoke at the event. "Today, we come together as a community to share our grief and to try to make sense of the tragic events of that fateful day seven years ago," he said.

NASA, San Francisco Giants Celebrate 50 Years of History

It was a day to remember – in more ways than one for NASA and the San Francisco Giants.

Both NASA and the Giants turned 50 this year, and as part of their joint birthday celebration, NASA Ames employees, their families and friends were invited to enjoy NASA Day at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008 and watch the Giants battle the Pittsburgh Pirates.
