Multiple selections allow for grouping data. For example, if you select Mexico and Canada, then the table downloaded will show U.S. imports from Mexico and Canada combined. You make multiple selections with the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys. Use the "Shift" key for sequential selections, and the "Ctrl" key for nonsequential ones.
You can download data as a table, and Excel® Spreadsheet, or if your system cannot read an Excel® Spreadsheet, as comma delimited. Some requests, for example all HTS line items for the World, may be too large and timeout. If this happens, your only option will be a spreadsheet or delimited data.
Delimited files: If "Delimited File" is checked, the data downloaded will be in a format that can be imported into a spreadsheet. "File | Save As | text file" may work sometimes, but a safer method is to select all of the text, right click to copy it, paste it to a word processor, save it as text, and then import it into a spreadsheet.
