Question - Why do snakes shed so often?
---------------------------------------
Snake skins are made of dead cells, somewhat analagous to our fingernails.
When a healthy snake grows it literally outgrows its skin and must shed the
old one and replace it. Frequency of shedding depends on growth rate and
general health of the animal.
