Larry Fazio Named NCUA Deputy Executive DirectorMarch 13, 2008, Alexandria, VA - National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Executive Director J. Leonard Skiles has selected NCUA Office of Examination and Insurance (E&I) Deputy Director Larry Fazio to be Deputy Executive Director of the NCUA, assisting Executive Director Skiles in managing the daily operation of the agency. “During Larry’s over 17 years of experience at NCUA, he has played a crucial role in helping ensure the safety and soundness of the credit union system. His tireless work on a variety of issues ranging from examinations to capital reform has placed him at the pinnacle of his profession, and I am pleased that he will continue to contribute to the Agency in this new capacity.” said NCUA Executive Director Leonard Skiles. Fazio’s career began with NCUA in 1991 as an examiner. He was selected as a Supervision Analyst in then Region IV in 1996. In 1999 he was promoted to Supervisory Examiner in Region IV, a position he held until his selection as Director of Supervision, also in Region IV. In 2002, Larry was selected to be the Director of Risk Management in E&I and was then promoted to his current position as Deputy Director, E&I, in 2006. Fazio holds a M.A. in Organizational Management from George Washington University and a B.A. in Accounting from Lewis University. In addition, he is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions.
