HHS Deputy Secretary Tevi Troy Visits Ireland

May 6, 2008 – Deputy Secretary Troy meets with the Honorable Mary Harney, T.D., and Minister for Health and Children, Republic of Ireland. They discussed electronic health records, value driven health care, patient safety and other key issues.

May 06, 2008 – Deputy Secretary Troy met with Mary Harney, Irish Minister of Health and Children.  Following up on a meeting they had in February at HHS, they continued their dialogue on electronic health records and also discussed value driven health care, patient safety and other issues of mutual interest.  The Deputy Secretary then participated in a working luncheon with the American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland, toured Wyeth Biotech campus at Grange Castle and addressed the Royal College of Surgeons.  Deputy Secretary Troy also conducted media interviews with George Hook, host of Newstalk 106-108's "The Right Hook" radio show and Robert Love, editor of Medicine Weekly.
