100 Health-Care Professionals from Central America Attend Training at the Regional Health-Care Training Center in Panamá City

February 25, 2008 – The fifth Training Course on influenza preparedness and response sponsored by of the Regional Health-Care Training Center (RHCTC) took place in Panamá City from February 1-23, 2008.  One hundred health-care professionals from throughout Central America attended the course, some of whom came from remote areas such as the Guatemala-México border region and indigenous communities in Panamá.  Members of the U.S. Department of Defense Southern Command taught seminars throughout the two week course, as did two prominent physicians from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Department of Health of Taiwan.
