the physics of water movement through wetland vegetation and to identify
approaches for quantifying frictional resistance and wave dampening
effects in different coastal wetland habitats.

Applications of this information to storm surge mitigation and freshwater
diversions will be presented and discussed.

Invited Speakers:
Dr. Heidi Nepf, Professor, Department of Civil & Environmental
Engineering, MIT
Dr. Robert Kadlec, Emeritus Professor, University of Michigan
