Formation on Asteroids and Planets

Question: How were asteroids and other planets formed
carol a jackson

Answer: Probably around the same time the sun formed - there was a huge cloud
of gas and dust. Most of it condensed into the plane of the planets orbits
around the sun because of the initial rotation of the cloud. The inner stuff
became the sun itself, and a portion of the outer stuff in the cloud gradually c ooled down and condensed
into the planets and other solar system objects.
