Question:  I am probably getting a telescope for xmas and am pretty much a
complete newbie at this kind of stuff.  I've done a little research and am
thinking about purchasing a mede model 229.  I have a budget of about $200 and
would like to get as good of a telescope as possible for that amount if anybody  has any info about that
model or any other general info that would be helpful it would be greatly

Answer:  Eileen, call the Adler planetarium.  Not only could they give you good
advice, for that kind of money you could grind your own mirror and construct a
really great telescope.
