Maximum dosage
Question: How do they determine the maximum dosage of medicine?

Answer:
Depends on the medicine, but I believe that experiments are
done with mice, rats, etc. to determine rough ranges; then
"higher" mammals are used to refine the dosages, and ultimately
human volunteers.
