Large scale production of fullerene steel
Question:
Has anyone seen the new steel which the inventor claims is permeated
with fullerene structures? If this really exists, why is it not
generally considered the hottest thing in materials since sliced
bread?
lord byron
Answer:
Well, I haven't seen it...but (1) is it safe? (fullerenes
are biologically hazardous). (2) does it have useful properties?
(3) Is it cheap and easy to make?
Positive answers to all 3 are necessary for any material to
be really "hot."
