Question -   Seaweed (kelp) is abundant around our shores(Ireland)
how would one extract properties from seaweed to help so as to improve day
to day products (i.e. shampoo)

Alginic acid and its alginate salts are commercially extracted from
certain species of seaweed. These compounds are widely used in foods,
personal care products, as well as coatings for paper.
