What is SmartBuy?

SmartBUY is an initiative of the Federal government to support effective enterprise level software management through the aggregate buying of commercial software government-wide.

Why is SmartBUY important?

The government spends approximately $59 billion on IT each year, a significant portion of which is software. Frequently, today, there is a wide disparity in prices paid by agencies for the same software products. By leveraging the government’s immense buying power, SmartBUY can potentially save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars through reduced prices and more favorable terms and conditions.

What is E-Forms Catalog?

The E-Forms Catalog is part of the Business Gateway Initiative. The E-Forms Catalog will provide citizens and businesses with a common access point to all Federal Agency forms hosted on individual Agency web sites. It will provide citizens and businesses with “One Stop Shopping” for all Federal forms needed to interact with the Federal Government. The E-Forms Catalog will reduce burden on citizens and businesses associated with locating Federal forms for both voluntary and regulatory interaction with the Federal Government. It will be a tool to the Federal Enterprise Architecture effort by providing information on numbers and usage of Federal forms.
