Research Priority Collections
At the front of the Library you will find our Featured Research Priority and Strategic Focus Area collection. This collection brings together in one location selected recently published books in the areas of Homeland Security, Nanotechnology, and Biosystems and Health. This collection highlights books published within the past three years. The collection is located opposite the photocopiers at the front of the Library on the main level. If you see the location "Strategic Focus Area Collection" at the bottom of the catalog record, this is where you will find the item.
Virtual Collections
The Library also maintains several virtual collections for NIST Research Priority areas. The virtual collections are online resource lists created within the Library Catalog. The virtual collections include books, plus NIST publications, audio-visual materials, and electronic resources. Materials in the virtual collections have various physical locations in the Library. To physically locate a title in a virtual collection, check for the Library location at the bottom of the catalog record display.
Includes high-end and high performance computing, cyberinfrastructure, supercomputing, and distributed computing— in materials published in the past ten years.
Includes biomedical engineering, public health, bioinformatics, biosensing, pharmacology, dentistry, and other related topics— in materials published in the past five years.
Includes biotechnology, genetic engineering, and DNA analysis— in materials published in the past ten years.
Includes global warming and climatic changes— in materials dating back to the 1970s.
Includes homeland security and closely related topics such as biometric identification, terrorism, weapons and weapons detection, and national security— in materials dating back to the 1940s.
Includes hydrogen as fuel and hydrogen storage— in materials dating back to the 1960s.
Includes nanotechnology, MEMS, molecular electronics, quantum computing, and other related topics— in materials published in the past five years.
