Office of Governmentwide Policy Supports UN/CEFACT Consensus Standards

Marion A. Royal of OGP's E-Gov Strategy Division (MEB) was elected to be Vice-Chair of the UN/CEFACT TBG 17 Data Harmonization Group at a quarterly meeting held in London, UK. The Data Harmonization Group accepts core components submissions from various working groups and other standards organization, such as OASIS, OAGIS, and SWIFT. After harmonizing the submissions, a library of re-usable data components will be produced and made available for world-wide use. This approach to harmonization is under consideration by the new Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Data Reference Model work being led by the Department of Homeland Security. ME Announces Usability University March Courses and Seminars

REGISTER NOW! Usability University is excited to announce March’s course and free seminars! Usability Basics is a 2-day course that is taught by Dr. Hal Miller-Jacobs on March 23-24 from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm at HHS. This course will introduce the concept of the Usability Engineering process and show how it can substantially increase the quality and usability of your Web site. The cost of the course is $350.00. Two free seminars are also scheduled in March. The first is Universal Design: The Case of Lower Literacy Populations and is being held on March 9th from 2-4 pm at EPA by Dr. William Gribbons. Effective Use of Personalized E-mail Alerts to Increase Website Usage seminar will be presented on March 22nd from 10:00 am – Noon at HHS. Scott Burns will be co-presenting this seminar with Janet Stevens.
