Community Emergency Preparedness Fair

The Dickson County Local Emergency Planning Committee/Citizen Corps Council utilizes this event to put forth a very proactive effort to prepare the citizens of Middle Tennessee to meet the challenges faced in emergency and disaster situations.
There will be approximately 50 individual indoor information booths and displays. Located nearby will be an expansive outdoor display area featuring everything from helicoptors to fire and emergency vehicles to an automobile rollover simulator, to Smokey the Bear's cabin.
The Community Emergency Preparedness Fair provides a "fair-type" relaxed atmosphere where the public can view interesting emergency equipment up close. Attendees can visit the numerous information booths from many agencies and organizations that are related to emergency preparedness and response. They will be able to pick up educational materials and gain knowledge from emergency responders on how to be better prepared to care for themselves and their families in case of an emergency or disaster situation.
This event coincides with National Preparedness Month which per Presidential proclamation is in September. There will several door prizes awarded the day of the event. |
