Invitation to Instructors
This posting will be removed on October 30, 2008

ATTENTION ALL Instructors
The Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team (FAASTeam)
Strongly Encourages Your Participation in the
WINGS – Pilot Proficiency Program

It has been shown statistically that a proficient pilot is a safer pilot. Remember, the future of aviation lies in your hands. The example you set as a pilot, and the knowledge and skills you display as an instructor, will be imitated by pilots who fly with you. Because of your example, we end up with a safer aviation system, and thus, the number of aircraft accidents that occur each year will decrease.

We hope you are taking advantage of the many on-line courses, like our new "Teaching and Performing Pre-Flight Preparations" master level course, and other resources listed on FAASafety.gov. We trust you are referring your students and customers so they can enjoy the many safety-oriented courses and resources, as well. Of course, we strongly encourage your personal participation in the WINGS– Pilot Proficiency Program as a pilot and instructor. When you discover the new emphasis on proficiency, we are sure you will be excited to refer pilots and other instructors to the new WINGS program.

As an authorized instructor you are already part of the WINGS program. You are listed on FAASafety.gov as a WINGS Activity Validator. You might want to sign on and read the help files to find out what this means to you and your students. Any questions you have should be directed to your local FAASTeam Program Manager or Representative. You may also email your questions, comments, and suggestions to: WINGSgensupport@FAASafety.gov.

If you are one of the 508,000 already using the system, sign on and update your preferences to make sure you are receiving the information that suits your needs; you do not want to miss upcoming events like our CFI Workshop series coming to an area near you.

If you are not signed up, we invite you to visit the site at http://faasafety.gov/ and sign up. Remember you can adjust your preferences to match your needs at any time and it is all FREE!
