spanhs.jpg Hispanic Heritage Month

Observed annually from September 15 to October 15, Hispanic Heritage Month honors the histories, cultures, and contributions of 45.5 million American citizens who identify themselves as Hispanic or Latino—our country's largest and fastest growing ethnic minority. Hispanics are changing the composition of cities and states from coast to coast and influencing all segments of American life. At the same time, too many Hispanic students face significant challenges in our public schools.

Recognizing Constitution Day

Constitution Day is observed on September 17, the day the United States Constitution was originally signed in 1787. These lesson plans and resources will help students learn more about this holiday and the history of our Constitution.

Health Care

Nobody should have to choose between prescription drugs and dinner, and a visit to the emergency room shouldn't bankrupt a family. There are 47 million Americans that don't have health insurance -- and that's crazy.
