Federal Consulting Group Awards Multi-Million Dollar Contract to MAXAMINE

Department of Treasury franchise to make MAXAMINE high-performance site analytics available to improve government Web sites

LAFAYETTE, Calif. and WASHINGTON D.C. – The Federal Consulting Group (FCG), a U.S. Treasury Department franchise that helps federal agencies improve public service, has awarded a five-year, multi-million dollar contract to MAXAMINE Inc. FCG awarded the contract after completing a year-long assessment of MAXAMINE solutions’ potential to improve government Web site quality and compliance. FCG will make MAXAMINE’s portfolio of high-performance site analytic solutions available to the approximate 125 U.S. federal government agencies it serves.

Driven by the accelerating growth in the size and complexity of their Web sites, U.S. agencies, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, FEMA, U.S. Department of State, Social Security Administration, and the Library of Congress have signed agreements under the new contract.

“We’ve used MAXAMINE in house, and it’s been a great tool—and popular with our staff, too,” said Carlton Burns at the Environmental Protection Agency. “We are looking forward to implementing it throughout EPA. One thing stands out: the software has the ability to keep our Web site up-to-date and enhance its usability. It consistently checks for any discrepancies and makes us aware of inappropriate content, broken links, and other things before our users find them.”

Federal agencies in the United States are held to a high compliance standard for privacy and accessibility, and FCG continues its efforts to promote best practices to ensure that citizens enjoy the best possible experience. MAXAMINE’s software utilizes a spider to collect comprehensive data about Web sites then uses that data to measure site quality, accessibility compliance, privacy implementations and compliance with internal publishing policies and guidelines. FCG’s customers receive more than 100 detailed reports, which lead to multiple improvements in their Web sites.

“Our goal is simple – to help government agencies realize their Web sites’ full potential by providing visitors with positive, high-quality experiences in which their security and privacy are safeguarded,” said Anne Kelly, FCG’s chief executive officer. “It didn’t take us long to realize how much agencies want and need what MAXAMINE offers.

MAXAMINE’s solution is based on advanced spatial and geological mapping technologies like those used to map galaxies and complex topologies from the high-performance computing industry.  MAXAMINE’s single-code-base software combined with its spatial data architecture provides a compelling cost-performance advantage when compared to conventional relational database-driven approaches and composite code-base solutions. It is both powerful and easy to use and ensures that the highest possible standards are maintained. This proven foundation makes it ideally suited for large dataset environments common among Web sites where scalability and flexibility are essential.

“We are inspired by the Web’s tremendous potential to enable unprecedented levels of access to a growing variety of convenient and efficient government services. While producing tremendous opportunities, the Web also creates new challenges for agencies as the U.S. government’s 20,000-plus sites grow in complexity and size,” said Perry Kamel, MAXAMINE’s chief operating officer. “FCG is playing a visionary role in promoting better online experiences for citizens and those who visit government Web sites, and we’re thrilled to partner with them in this historic effort.”
