Fact or fiction?

  1. Two out of three teens that have sex by age 18 say they wish they'd waited longer.

  2. About 80 percent of teens 12-19 say they feel pressure to have sex.

  3. Everyone is having sex.

  4. Sixty-five percent of teens say it would be much easier to delay sex if other teens spoke positively about not having sex.

  5. You can't get pregnant having sex your first time. It's impossible.

  6. You can't get pregnant having sex standing upright.

  7. More than half of teen pregnancies happen during the first six months after a person has sex for the first time.

  8. Most teens that become pregnant marry the father of their baby.

  9. You can't get pregnant if you have sex while you are menstruating.

  10. Teens have higher rates of gonorrhea than do sexually active men and women ages 20-44.

  11. You can tell by looking at someone if they have a sexually transmitted disease (STI).
