Description
The Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) implements the provisions of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 1990 which calls for increased independence, productivity, community integration, interdependence and inclusion of persons with developmental disabilities. The ADD administers two formula grants programs to States for planning, administration, and advocating services for persons with developmental disabilities, and to protect the legal and human rights of persons with developmental disabilities. Activities under these programs include promotion of employment, community living arrangements, child development, case management, and include support for services to assist families of persons with developmental disabilities. The ADD also administers two major discretionary grant programs.
