WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Service (CRS) will sponsor a racial conflict response program for 40 New England campus police chiefs in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 9, 2002. The training will be hosted by the Worcester State College campus police department at the Kaylan Ghosh Science and Technology Building, 486 Chandler Street, Worcester, Massachusetts from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

"At the request of New England campus police chiefs, CRS stepped in to help the chiefs receive information on best practices to prevent and to address Post-September 11 hate incidents and racial tensions on their campuses," said CRS Director Sharee M. Freeman.

The program will include three topics: hate crimes; Arab, Muslim, Sikh, and South Asian issues; and management of racial incidents on campuses as a team approach.
