Foreword

This bibliography comprises the trucking component of a larger compendium: Sources of Information in Transportation, 6th edition, compiled by members of the Transportation Division, Special Libraries Association. The intent of the document is to provide an overall guide, arranged in subject sections, to the literature of transportation in North America and internationally. Prior editions have been published in print exclusively and will be available in selected libraries.

The Trucking Section contains over 500 entries, and is intended to serve as a guide to the major sources of information on the trucking industry. While sources listed focus primarily on the United States and Canada, some international materials have been included. Though emphasis is on current publications, some materials of historical interest have also been included.

The individual bibliographies, comprising the 6th edition of Sources of Information in Transportation, are being published on the world wide web by the National Transportation Library, Research and Innovative Technology Administration, U. S. Department of Transportation. The complete listing of bibliographies is found at: http://ntl.bts.gov/ref/biblio/

Print copies of the new edition or the individual bibliographies will not be available due to budget constraints.

Sources of Information in Transportation will be updated and published periodically. Suggestions and comments, as well as corrections, broken links, etc. may be forwarded to the editor at roger.garren@dot.gov.
