GROUCHO MARX

Groucho Marx was born on October 2, 1895 in New York City. He is one of four Marx brothers, the others being Leonard (Chico), Arthur (Harpo) and Herbert (Zeppo). They performed in vaudeville with their mother and aunt and were know as the "Six Musical Mascots." Later the brothers toured as the "Four Nightingales" and finally as the "Four Marx Brothers." They also appeared in motion pictures.

In 1936, Groucho and Chico Marx were found guilty of Copyright Law violation in their radio program and fined $1,000.00 each. Julius "Groucho" Marx is a radio and television comedian who appeared on the television show "You Bet Your Life."

There was an extortion attempt made against Groucho Marx in 1956.
