Welcome to the historical Public Health Functions Project site. This site is intended to provide materials of interest to various audiences regarding public health infrastructure. The Public Health Functions Project ended in 1999.  It was coordinated by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Office of Public Health Science, Office of the Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and brought together the Public Health Service agencies and national public health organizations to strengthen the public health infrastructure of the nation.
