Ms.
Schmidt is an applied mathematician in the Unit on Neuroadaptation and Protein Metabolism of the Intramural Research
Program, National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda,
Maryland. She received her M.A. in mathematics from the
University of Maryland where she studied numerical linear
algebra with G.W. Stewart. She joined the Laboratory of
Cerebral Metabolism in 1983 to work with Louis Sokoloff
on quantitative in vivo imaging techniques. |
Research Interests |
Ms. Schmidt's work centers on the development and analysis of kinetic models of tracers used for the measurement of regional cerebral blood flow, glucose metabolism, and protein synthesis by Positron Emission Tomography and quantitative autoradiographic techniques. |
