Position: Vanessa was Coordinator for Analysis and Assessments

Responsibilities: Vanessa Richardson was on a one-year detail from the National Science Foundation as Coordinator for Analysis and Assessments for the Climate Change Science Program Office, from June 2005 through July 2006. As Coordinator for Analysis and Assessments, Richardson provided management level expertise for a) coordinating the preparation of Our Changing Planet and b) developing and coordinating administrative processes associated with the review of CCSP Synthesis and Assessment Reports. In addition, she served as the Chair of the Financial and Administrative Committee of the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI). Richardson has worked at the National Science Foundation since 1983 when she was hired as an economist in the NSF Division of Science Resources Studies. She worked in the Office of the Assistant Director for Scientific, Technological and International Affairs and the Office of the Assistant Director for Education and Human Resources prior to joining the Office of the Assistant Director for Geosciences in 1992. Richardson served as Director of Operations and Analysis since 1993.
