Fabien LaurierPosition: Climate Change Program Specialist (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research - UCAR)

Responsibilities: Fabien Laurier serves as a Senior Staff member of the Climate Change Science Program Office, and as the Executive Secretary for the U.S. Subcommittee on Global Change Research; in this capacity, he provides technical and managerial support to the CCSP Leadership. Fabien's activities include, facilitating program coordination, planning and integration, as well as research prioritization. He also serves as the coordination office focal point for the program's current assessment activities -- a series of 21 Synthesis and Assessment Products that provide summaries of the current state of knowledge on specific topics of relevance to decision makers.

Before joining CCSP office, Fabien was a research scientist at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, his work focused on chemical oceanography, atmospheric chemistry, and ocean observing systems. Fabien Laurier received his Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in chemical oceanography from the Paris Geophysical Institute, Jussieu University, France, and his Masters degree (cum laude) in Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences in 1998 from the same institute.
