Assistant Commerce Secretary Larry Irving released Connecting the Nation: Classrooms, Libraries, and Health Care Organizations in the Information Age on June 28. "Connecting the Nation is the most comprehensive compilation of information on the connectivity level of public institutions. It will prove a valuable resource for all of us...who are concerned about the growing gap between the information 'haves' and 'have-nots'," said Irving. The report concludes that although the status of public institution connectivity to the Internet is improving, far too many lack the connections they will need for the Information Age. For more information or a hard copy of Connecting the Nation, please contact Emilio Gonzalez at 202-482-5802.
