Our Mission

The mission of the Defense Medical Readiness Training Institute (DMRTI) is to coordinate, evaluate and develop joint medical readiness training initiatives with a focus on evolving doctrine and joint operational requirements. DMRTI conducts and/or facilitates selected joint medical training programs to prepare DoD medical personnel for a wide range of Military operations. DMRTI is a Tri-Service military organization located at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Staffed by professionals from the Army, Navy and Air Force, DMRTI conducts and coordinates training for active duty and reserve military medical personnel who provide worldwide healthcare support.

DMRTI improves the medical readiness training for military medical personnel and the coordination of readiness training efforts between military and civilian organizations. It also reduces duplication of readiness training efforts across services and decreases readiness training costs.
