Overview of the Small Business ProgramThe Small Business Program is an advocacy program for all categories of small businesses, including 8(a), disadvantaged, woman-owned, Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone), and service-disabled veteran-owned firms. NRC seeks to identify quality firms from among these businesses, provide them appropriate business opportunity information, and advocate their participation in procuring NRC business. We monitor and evaluate our performance in achieving Procurement Preference Goals as established by the Small Business Administration (SBA). For this program, the NRC develops policies and procedures to implement the provisions of sections 8 and 15 of the Small Business Act of 1958, as amended by Public Law (P.L.) 95-507 and P.L. 100-656 , Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988.
