Natural Inquirer - Lesson Plans - (Forest Service) - This journal was created so that scientists can share their research with middle school students. Each article tells you about scientific research conducted by scientists in the USDA Forest Service. All of the research in this journal is concerned with nature, trees, wildlife, insects, outdoor activities and water.

NOAA Research - For Teachers - (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) - These teaching materials will prepare you to help your students investigate the topics in the on-line science lessons. Promise of Place - (U.S. Forest Service and U.S. Park Service) - Place-based education (PBE) immerses students in local heritage, cultures, landscapes, natural resources, natural systems, stewardship opportunities and experiences, using these as a foundation for the study of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and other subjects across the curriculum. PBE emphasizes learning through participation in service learning projects in the local school and/or community. The Water Cycle - This site is the most comprehensive Web site about "The Water Cycle" anywhere. It features a wonderful diagram of the natural water cycle and an in-depth discussion of each of the 15 topics on the diagram. And, the diagram is available in over 52 languages!
