Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Welcome to the Morris K Udall Foundation's FOIA page. We hope this Web site provides helpful information about the Foundation and
about the Freedom of Information Act.
The Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552), provides the public with a right of access to government records. The Act also
has nine exemptions that allow the government to withhold certain types of information, including information related to national
security, the government's deliberative process, attorney client communications, and confidential business matters. There also is an
exemption for confidential communications in a dispute resolution proceeding, which is part of the Administrative Dispute Resolution
Act of 1996, 5 U.S.C. 574.
There are links below to the regulations the Foundation follows in processing requests for information under FOIA and to additional
guidance for those who wish to understand the Freedom of Information Act in more detail.
