Abstract

Founded in 1978, AAHN is a professional organization open to everyone interested in the history of nursing. The association's purpose is to foster the importance of history in understanding the present and guiding the future of nursing. These goals are accomplished by: education of the public and professionals; supporting national and international collaboration in promoting the history of nursing; encouraging and recognizing nursing research; promoting the archiving and use of materials important to nursing history; serving as a resource about nursing history; producing and distributing educational materials; and promoting the inclusion of nursing history in nursing curricula.
