"Lepke" Buchalter was born on February 6, 1897,
in New York City. Buchalter was first arrested
September 2, 1915, on a burglary charge. He was
later known as a member of "Murder, Incorporated"
for all the killings and crimes he committed or
ordered committed. In March of 1940, he was sentenced
to a term of 30 years to life for crimes committed.
He was sent to Leavenworth Penitentiary in April
1940. He died in the electric chair at Sing Sing
Prison on March 4, 1944, after being found guilty
of murder in Kings County, New York.
