This site provides information on frequently asked questions about suicide, various government activities, national research and evaluation initiatives and surveillance, as well as information on prevention and intervention legislation. The strategy advocates that suicide is preventable and develops support for suicide prevention programs. Another goal is also to reduce the stigma associated with being a consumer of mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention services.

It also provides an overview of who is affected by suicide, recommends a community plan to prevent suicide and provides a list of organizations to contact for additional information on suicide.

This site provides information on CDC's program in suicide prevention, a detailed listing of suicide prevention materials, and links to additional resources. The National Center for Injury Prevention and Control works to reduce morbidity, disability, mortality and costs associated with injuries.
