MISSION

Program manage (acquire/develop and implement) DoD Information Assurance and NETOPS capabilities--provide responsive, secure, and interoperable net-centric solutions necessary to secure and operate the Global Information Grid (GIG) in support of the Secretary of Defense, Combatant Commanders, Joint/combined task forces, Services, and Agencies.

FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure effective and efficient application, planning, programming, budgeting and execution of IA resources for all of DISA in concert with DoD goals and objectives.
  • Develop/acquire and implement enterprise wide solutions to provide situational awareness for GIG NetOps personnel.
  • Develop/acquire and implement enterprise wide Computer Network Defense (CND) solutions and integration approaches to identify threats to the GIG, sense network and host-based attacks/degradations, and develop/disseminate countermeasures and courses of action.
  • Develop/acquire and implement security products and solutions that ensure the security of the GIG.
  • Provide secure and reliable identity management services for DoD applications and systems.
  • Provide net-centric, service-oriented, cross-domain information sharing solutions with guaranteed quality of service (QoS) for authorized users anywhere on the GIG.

STRUCTURE

Program Controls & Acquisition Division (IA1)
  • Mission: Ensure effective and efficient application, planning, programming, budgeting and execution of IA resources for all of DISA in concert with DoD goals and objectives. Additionally, perform acquisition oversight and support to the PEO-IAN for IA/CND solutions.
NetOps Division (IA2)
  • Mission: Develop the tools and capabilities necessary to implement an integrated vision of Net-Centric Enterprise Services for Network Operations across the GIG. Provide active program management during all development, acquisition, integration, and operational transition phases. Integrate a comprehensive situational awareness capability using all enterprise sensor data sources to support unprecedented NetOps for the DoD.
CND Solutions Division (IA3)
  • Mission: Develop integrated and interoperable net-centric IA architectural solutions in support of the DoD GIG. Ensure the security of the GIG through the engineering, architecture, development, testing, acquisition, and fielding of network security products and solutions. Plan and manage lifecycle activities of CND capabilities.
Identity Management Division (IA4)
  • Mission: Provide secure and reliable identity management services for DoD applications and systems. Services include identification, authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signature, integrity, and biometrics for consumers (e.g., business processes, applications, users) to support the GIG Enterprise Service. Design, build, integrate, implement, and sustain the DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Global Directory Services (GDS), Joint Enterprise Directory Services (JEDS), and other identify management services as they are defined.
