DESCRIPTION

DISA's Global Information Grid - Enterprise Services Engineering Directorate (GE) plans, engineers, acquires, and integrates joint, interoperable, secure, agile global net-centric solutions to satisfy the needs of the warfighter, and it develops and maintains a world-class engineering workforce to support the needs of DISA's programs. GE's core competencies include providing disciplined information technology end-to-end systems engineering, offering security expertise for the Global Information Grid, leveraging commercial-off-the-shelf products and services to solve joint and coalition needs, and swiftly delivering value-added, trustworthy, global net-centric solutions.

DIVISIONS

GE's operational elements are:

Business Management Division (GE1) - Plan and acquire the necessary resources to ensure success of GE engineering missions, and in coordination with Home Team Engineering (HTE), support the overall direction of engineering training, education and development programs.

GIG Engineering Center (GE2) - Provide world-class engineering support for the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), the DISA SATCOM Support Office, DoD Strategic Communications and serve as the primary source of E2E communications engineering expertise for DISA and DoD.

Systems Engineering Center (GE3) - Provide architecture, systems engineering, advanced concepts technology demonstrations, and end-to-end analytical support for DISA and its customers, enabling integrated capabilities in support of warfighter mission requirements. Implements engineering and management responsibilities for the DoD IT Standards Executive Agent. Develops, maintains, and administers a comprehensive career path for DISA engineers and computer scientists.
