Home Policy and Ethics Search the Database
Welcome to the NHGRI Policy and Legislation Database
This database contains Federal and State laws/statutes; Federal legislative materials; and Federal administrative and executive materials, including regulations, institutional policies, and executive orders.
The database currently focuses on the following subject areas: privacy of genetic information/confidentiality; informed consent; insurance and employment discrimination; genetic testing and counseling; and commercialization and patenting.
How to Search the Database:
With the Search Boxes: You can pick as many terms in each search box as you like. Adding other search criteria, such as "Content Type," "Topic," "Source," and "Keyword" will refine your search (search criteria are connected with a Boolean AND). By Keyword: The Keyword search option looks for the entered word(s) in the title field. Entering a single word in the box is usually sufficient. - By Using the U.S. State Map:
