NIGC ANNOUNCES DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION

Washington DC, August 28, 2006 — Today, the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) welcomes Kelly Esseesy who has been named Director of Administration.  In this capacity, Kelly will be responsible for overseeing several important areas of NIGC’s operation including Freedom of Information Act and records management, Information Technology, Accounting and Finance, Government Performance Results Act compliance and all NIGC training needs.

 

“We are pleased to welcome Kelly to NIGC.  She brings extensive knowledge and experience to the Commission,” Chairman Hogen said. 

 

Kelly comes to the National Indian Gaming Commission from the U.S. House of Representatives.  While working at the House, she served as a member of the Business Improvement Team in the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer; this team was responsible for evaluating and improving the administrative and financial polices and processes at the House with an aim of improving customer service.  Kelly obtained a master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University and has two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park
