Sun Spot Chart

Sun Spot Chart
Total Irradiance Decrement
Caused by a Sun Spot
This chart shows a series of sunspot images as the sunspot crosses the visible face of the sun and the correlated energy measurement from ACRIM I. This chart shows that as a sunspot crosses the face of the sun there is a measurable decrease in the quantity of energy that reaches the earth. Interestingly, the TSI climbs slightly just before the appearance of a sunspot and just after the sunspot disappears.
