NETWARS (Network Warfare Simulation)

Disclaimer: As of October 2007, NETWARS was re-designated by the Program Manager Office as the Joint Communications Simulation System (JCSS). JCSS was selected as the new industry name to better reflect the inherent joint communication capabilities of the software. Users should be aware that no software updates were conducted as part of the software name change.

NETWARS is the Joint Chiefs of Staff standard for modeling military communication systems.

It is a desktop software application that provides modeling and simulation capabilities for measuring and assessing the information flow through the strategic, operational, and tactical military communications networks. Request NETWARS Software or NETWARS Licenses.

The NETWARS program was developed to provide an integrated ability to analyze communication networks while also providing a validated simulation capability with databases and underlying models so that studies can be consistent throughout the Unified Combatant Commands, Services, and others within the Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems (C4) community.

By simulating communications effects of existing or planned networks that support warfighter operations, NETWARS helps to quantify risks and identify C4 deficiencies prior to execution or change implementation.

Results from NETWARS simulations and analyses also provide support for prudent acquisition decisions.
