Off-Site Electronic Access

The Library catalog is available to all persons, internal or external, through the guest button on the login page of the catalog. Electronic ORNL technical reports are available for download to all users through the catalog.

Other library electronic recources, including electronic journals and databases, are only available to persons who have an ORNL assigned user ID and password.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)
ORNL electronic journals and databases can be accessed remotely (e.g., from home or a laptop while on travel) using only a VPN connection. If you do not have a VPN account, you can request a VPN account through UCAMS. If you are having problems with your VPN access, contact the ORNL helpline at 865-241-ORNL (241-6765).

In addition to a VPN account, available through UCAMS, you will need to install VPN client software on the remote computer.
