The Department of Defense 50th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee has restructured the program formerly known as the Commemorative Community Program. The term "Commemoration Partner" better captures the relationship between the National Committee and the thousands of participants who have signed up to assist in this grass-roots effort intended to embrace the nearly 1.8 million veterans who served in the Korean War, and their families or their next of kin.

National level events serve their purpose to register the Nation's remembrance, but they can touch directly only a limited number of the veterans who served in the Korean War. Through the Commemoration Partner Program, we hope to reach out to honor ALL Korean War veterans in or near their home communities across the United States and in foreign lands. The key to success is the Commemoration Partners, many of whom already have sponsored thousands of events that contribute immeasurably to an increasing awareness about the Korean War.
