Request for Public Comment: Bank Enterprise Award Program
FY 2009 Application

September 4, 2008

Washington, DC - The Department of Treasury, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, Pub. L. No. 104-13 (44 U.S.C. 3506(c)(2)(A)). The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund is soliciting comments on the Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) Program FY 2009 Application Materials.

This application should be referenced for the purpose of providing comments on the use of the application to collect information only; it should not be completed and submitted as a request for funding. Dates and instructions are subject to change.

Note: Actual funding for this program is contingent upon available resources. Publication of this Application does not oblige the CDFI Fund of the Department of the Treasury to make any award or obligate any available funds.

Through BEA, the CDFI Fund encourages Insured Depository Institutions to increase their levels of loans, investments, services and technical assistance within Distressed Communities, and financial assistance to CDFIs through grants, loans, deposits and other forms of assistance. BEA Program awards are based on a percentage of the increase in the amount of Qualified Activities from a Baseline Period to a later Assessment Period (the corresponding time the following year). Specific Qualified Activities are defined in the Interim Rule (12 CFR 1806.103).
