Building Bridges from the Classroom to the Research Laboratory
The 2007 Edward Teller Science and Technology Education Symposium is presented in a new, one-day format. During this one-day visit to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, participants will learn of ongoing experimental investigations that will enable them to understand some of the most advanced developments in their fields. They will see state-of-the-art scientific equipment used in large-scale research activities, and meet scientists to learn about questions being researched.
What you will do:
During your visit to Livermore Laboratory you will:
- Meet world-class research scientists,
- Get an up-close look at state-of-the-art research facilities
- Participate in hands-on, standards aligned workshops.

Who Should Attend:
- Practicing secondary science and math teachers
- Pre-credential and emerging mathematics and science teacher candidates
What you keep:
You will receive a complete set of the materials that you used in the workshops including color transparencies used in the presentations, and a CD ROM with all the workshop materials ready for immediate classroom use.
Academic Credit:
Participants may receive 1 semester unit of extension credit from CSU Chico for the completion of the symposium. Registration forms are distributed at the end of the workshop. Payment of registration fees may be made by personal check or credit card.

- Make $25 registration check payable to UC Regents

Collaborative Partnership:
LLNL and California State University welcome pre-service and emerging mathematics and science teacher candidates from California State University campuses to the Teller Symposium. This experience represents a beginning opportunity for new teachers to remain current in the advancements of their scientific field and learn current updates in scientific developments that will enable them to present science and mathematics in engaging, inspiring ways.
